Healing from Religion Support Group

Creating space for your story.

Questioning, leaving, or healing from a high-control religion can be one of the loneliest experiences there is — especially when the people around you don't understand. This group is a place to be heard by people who do.

How We Hold the Space

A few promises we keep for each other.

What's said here stays here.

Confidentiality is the foundation. What people share in the room stays in the room — that's what makes it safe to be honest.

We stay affirming and open.

We honor each person's experience, even when it differs from our own. No one is here to convert, debate, or change anyone — and we're careful with language that assumes everyone shares our views.

Come as you are.

You don't need it figured out. Share as much or as little as you want — listening is its own kind of participation.

We witness — we don't fix.

We support each other without unsolicited advice. Sometimes being heard is the help.

Is This For You?

This group is for you if…

  • You're deconstructing, deconverting, or recovering from a high-control or harmful religion — whether you're still in it or you've left
  • You're looking to connect with others who truly get it
  • Validation and support would be meaningful to you
  • You're ready to be affirming and open to experiences different from your own

This is not…

  • Group therapy — there's no diagnosis or treatment
  • A space to defend, debate, or recruit for any religion
  • A place that will push you toward any belief — including none
  • A replacement for individual therapy or crisis care

Reserve Your Spot

Space is limited so the group stays small and intimate. Before the first session, we'll have a quick 10-min phone call— a low-key chance for me to make sure it's a good fit and for you to ask anything.
